Broken Compass Bluegrass is a young jamgrass quartet from northern California that plays a mix of bluegrass, country, Grateful Dead, and original songs. They have performed at many prestigious music festivals and venues, such as High Sierra, Strawberry, Winter WonderGrass, Hangtown, Northwest String Summit and Sierra Nevada Big Room. They released their debut album Fool’s Gold in March 2023, which features their tight arrangements, tasteful musicianship, and distinguished songwriting skills.

In addition to her performances, Rita is involved in a project called Climate Country Radio, where she aims to create and share “public service songs” related to issues such as public health, water and energy conservation, climate mitigation, and emergency preparedness.
